On October 11 from 12:00 pm – 4:00 pm, come join naturalists from Wild Oakland and the California Center for Natural History for an afternoon of bikes, birds, and beers in the crisp fall air!
Enjoy the changing of the seasons by taking a bike tour around the bay from Fruitvale BART to Arrowhead Marsh while getting to know the native and migratory bird species that stop at our waters every year. The tour will end at Drake’s Brewery for lunch and some refreshing beverages.
We’ll provide binoculars, snacks, tips and tricks for beginner birding, and natural history information. You provide the pedal power!
It’s about 8 miles from Fruitvale BART to Drake’s. San Leandro BART is an additional 2 miles from Drake’s, so you can bike there to catch a train if you don’t want to bike all the way back to Fruitvale BART.
Please bring your own bike (we do not provide them), a bike helmet, bike lights, drinking water, and a jacket in case it gets cool while we’re at the marsh.
This event is $30 and is limited to 10 people.
21+ only, ID and bicycle helmet required!
