CCNH has partnered with Redwood Coast Tours to bring you some birding excellence in Santa Cruz!
Pinto Lake County Park is a hidden jewel of Santa Cruz County - and the combination of parkland, riparian woods, oak and eucalyptus forest, and reedy lakeshore make it an excellent place to find a wide variety of birds.
Join us for a morning walk around the lake - we'll talk about basic bird biology and ecology, learn to recognize basic groups of birds, work on identifying common species, and ponder the wonders of migration. Mid-October is near the tail end of fall migration, which is a likely time to encounter rare birds in Santa Cruz County - who knows what we'll find?! Please bring a pair of binoculars if you have them.
This event is $15, and you can sign up here.
