CCNH is teaming up with the awesome folks at Stepping Out, Stepping In to celebrate Earth Day, and to help clean-up Oakland’s beach at Middle Harbor Shoreline Park!
Agenda for the day:
- 9:00 am - 12:00 pm Shoreline Cleanup
- 11:00 am - 11:45 am Birds of the Bay
- 11:45 am - 12:00 PM Group Photo & Trash Data Collection
- 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm Free Lunch & Prizes
Join a naturalist to learn your shorebirds at 11:00 am. Help cleanup the shoreline from 9:00am - 12:00 pm, then track how much and what kind of trash you collect. Be rewarded with FREE Lunch at noon (funded by the Port of Oakland). There will be prizes for most unusual objects found, refreshments, and binoculars to borrow for birdwatching.
Stepping Out Stepping In & the Port of Oakland provide disposable gloves and trash bags. Or you are encouraged to bring your own gloves and buckets to reduce waste. Remember to wear clothes that can get dirty, closed-toe shoes and sun/wind protection.
Whether you come solo or as part of a large group, all are welcome!
*Your RSVP will help ensure we have enough food for lunch and supplies for the cleanup.
